School Plan 2016 - 2017

1. Briefly describe the School LAND Trust Plan by explaining each goal the council has identified. Plans should be research based. If your school has more than five goals, you will need to describe additional goals within the fifth goal.

Goal #1

State the SPECIFIC goal including when the school will reach the goal. List ACTION PLAN steps below.

Reading

Identify the specific measurement(s) you will use to determine if you are making progress towards the goal. Include the baseline and completed measurement.


The number of students proficient in Reading/Language Arts will increase by 3% as measured by DIBELS and SAGE Testing.

List the specific steps of the ACTION PLAN to reach this goal.


Steps- Reading

  1. Provide teachers opportunities to meet in PLC’s to monitor student progress in Reading and determine intervention strategies. This opportunity will be facilitated by the PLC aides who rotate in classrooms for 50 minutes twice a month. 
  2. Reading aide will work under the direction of the reading coach to support reading intervention for students K-3 who score intensive on the DIBELS assessment.
  3. Reading Center staff members will be hired to run small group reading intensive interventions.
  4. Continue and maintain the district reading program.
  5. Reading fluency and comprehension will be monitored using DIBELS and benchmark assessments. This assessment will be administered at the beginning, middle and end of the school year to diagnose our progress. 
  6. Funding for substitute teachers to support teachers during progress monitoring.
  7. All teachers will participate in Professional Development in the areas of Reading/Language Arts instruction.
  8. Technology Repairs, Replacements, and Maintenance will be done to ensure each member of the Reading Team has access to the technology and Software.

Trust Land funds will be used to increase student proficiency in Mathematics by 3% as measured by SAGE testing.

Mathematics

Identify the specific measurement(s) you will use to determine if you are making progress towards the goal. Include the baseline and completed measurement.


The number of students proficient in Mathematics will increase by 3% as measured by SAGE Testing.

List the specific steps of the ACTION PLAN to reach this goal.


Steps - Mathematics

  1. Provide teachers opportunities to meet in PLC’s to monitor student progress in Mathematics and determine intervention strategies. This opportunity will be facilitated by the PLC aides who rotate in classrooms for 50 minutes twice a month.  All teachers will participate in Professional Development in the area of Mathematics instruction.
  2. Utilize district curriculum and other materials to support Common Core standards.
  3. Develop, analyze, and administer common assessments at grade level to best meet the individual student’s needs in math.
  4. All teachers will participate in professional development in the area of Math instruction.
  5. Grades 3-6 will utilize the ALEKS program weekly.
  6. Provide Math manipulatives as needed.

  3.  Utilize the Discovery Edu Streaming and Brain Pop software.

3. Please explain the reason for the ESTIMATED Carry-over to 2016 - 2017 of $0. It is more than 10% of the ESTIMATED Distribution for 2015 - 2016.
Funds identified to be carried over should be identified for a specific future need and should not be used as a savings account.


4. Plans for expenditures of an increased distribution:
The 2015-2016 distribution in this plan is an estimate. If the actual distribution is more than the estimate, how will additional funds be spent to implement the goals described in the plan? Please indicate the goal number identified in Question 2 and explain how the increased funds will further implement the action plan. Please provide an adequate explanation of academic use so that it will not be necessary to go back to the school board for approval to expend an increased distribution.


If there is an increase distribution, funding will be used to support technology to support and enhance the three designated goals.
